A very cost effective yet rewarding project. The project has been thoroughly enjoyed by my year 8 pupils, each teaching rotation generating completely different and innovative ideas. The project has no boundaries and can be easily adapted to suit. A doll template which children can draw clothes on to. I use this with my year 7s and have a box of crafty bits, scrap materials and haberdashery for them to get really stuck in with. a great one-off or introductory lesson to textiles and fabric. The students will have an opportunity to independently produce their own Tote Bag using practical techniques learned before. Pupils will design and manufacture a bag for The TEENAGE target market. They will gain experience of designing using a range of materials, production and decoration techniques. They will use a range of manufacturing skills such as; cutting, hand sewing, machine sewing, pattern making, CAD/CAM, Heat transfer design, Hand dyeing and the application of a Square or Patch pocket.
